Learn why and how to cold brew tea, for the upcoming spring and summer days.
As we begin to approach the summer months, warm summer days with a glass of iced tea on the patio come to mind. You may be aware of preparing your iced teas using the ”sun tea” method, or maybe brewing the traditional way and then placing it in the fridge to cool it back down. These were the ways I used to prepare my tea prior to learning about the cold brew method.
I first learned about cold brewing via coffee. After some research, I learned that just like coffee, tea could also be cold brewed. After trying it out last year, it has become my go-to method for making iced tea! You get a much more concentrated flavor with cold brewing, and if you use loose leaf tea you can usually make two batches with the same tea leaves. (I highly recommend using loose leaf tea for cold brewing.)
Below, I have shared instructions on how I go about making my cold brew tea. If you decide to give it a try please post in the comments and let me know how it turned out for you. Thanks, and enjoy!
