I'm shedding some light on one of my favorite herbs today...Lemon Balm!
Aloha Friends! Today I wanted to share a little info about one of my favorite herbs, which is Lemon Balm. I came across this herb last year when I first started to learn about herbalism. I was researching herbs that would be good for an anxiety relief tea blend that I was trying to create.
What drew me to Lemon Balm as a possible herb to add to the blend, was it's effects on the nervous system. Lemon Balm is known for its ability to soothe and calm the nervous system. It ended up becoming the star ingredient in my "Chill Pill" tea blend! (You can purchase the tea over in my shop!)
However, Lemon Balm has been shown to have many other benefits for the mind and body. Here are just a few of them:
promotes sleep by easing insomnia
reduces stress and anxiety
eases pain and discomfort from indigestion
potent antiviral benefits which can assist the body in fighting infections, cold, and flu
Lemon balm also has mild antispasmodic effects that have been shown to help gently stimulate the liver and help soothe cramps.
All in all this power herb is a great staple I believe, to add into your own herbal apothecary.
